Crappie Parmesan On Italian Toasted Hoagie, Crappie Parmesan Sandwich, Crappie Parmesan, Italian Crappie, Crappie Italian Breadcrumbs

Better than the popular chicken parmesan, this simple recipe can go from prep to plate in only 40 minutes. Toasting the hoagie bun brings it to a whole new level!

Cooking is a relaxing experience for me. It’s easy for me to get lost in my work and I never measure anything. I sure tried on this recipe! Cooking is meant to be enjoyable. Alter things to what you like. Want some spice? Shake some cayenne in it. Fending off vampires? Pump up the garlic. Rigorous studies conducted in this household proves you can never have too much garlic.

Here’s what you’ll need!

*T= Table spoon        t= Tea Spoon

1/2lbs Crappie Fillets

4 Hoagie Buns

1 Cup Italian Breadcrumbs

1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 t Garlic Salt

1/2 t Black Pepper

1/2 t Italian Seasoning

Oil For Bread:

1/2 Stick Of Butter

1 t Garlic Salt

1 t Italian Seasoning

*heat until melted and brush onto both sides of the bread.  Place on Foreman grill or on a pan until edges are crispy.

Lets get hot. Add your frying oil of choice into a pan. I used a large skillet with about an inch of oil. When is it ready? Once you start to notice a haze coming off the oil sprinkle a little breading or dip your food item….see if it bubbles!

While you’re waiting for your haze you should have plenty of time to get the  breading in order. Combine the ingredients and coat your fish. I make sure it’s fully coated and pressed in. Set it on a plate and get ready for the best part.

Once you’re oil is ready, gently lay the fish in the pan. Careful! No one likes a burn.

Fish cooks fast! By the time the breading is done the meat will be too! Check the bottom and flip once it’s golden brown- or browned to your liking. Wait for the other side to do the same and transfer to a plate lined with paper towel to absorb extra oil.

Now, lets toast some bread. We used oil this go around but a liquid fat you prefer will work just fine (hello butter).Season your fat and brush the open sides of your bread. Place on a hot grill pan and let it get toasty.

Sandwich assembly can vary person to person by preference. Here’s how I do it.

Spread marinara on each side of bread. Place your fish, slap on some mozzarella cheese and viola! Enjoy!
